electronic Medicines Compendium (eMC)

The eMC is a database of information about medicines. Updated continuously throughout each day, it forms part of the of the Mediciines.org.uk portal operated by Datapharm Communications Ltd. The eMC evolved from two ABPI publications:

• The Compendium of Data Sheets and Product Characteristics (SPCs)
• The Compendium of Patient Information Leaflets (PILs).

It provides easy access to individual SPCs and PILs. These contain specific information on medicines, including but not limited to:

The eMC ultimately aims to provide information on all forms of licenced medicines, including prescription only medicines (branded and generic) and over the counter (OTC) medicines from pharmacies.
